It’s so good! – as long as you don’t know what the butter content is. I didn’t know I needed a little variety until I had my MIL’s apple crunch pie. Once in a while you need a little variety on the standard apple pie. It’s great for those days when you are having company and don’t have time to bake something to serve. I usually bake them longer then if I was just making a fresh, thawed pie – Usually about 90 minutes will do the trick or until the crust is golden brown. It’s so easy that it makes that loooooong pie making day totally worth it. ![]() Then anytime you want fresh pie, you just pull one out the freezer and bake it. The apple sauce is all cooked and ready to go, but the pies and crisps are assembled and frozen. Last year, we made over 50 pies, a dozen apple crisps and several batches of apple sauce. For the past several years, my Mom, sister and SIL have gotten together to spend the day together making all things apple. In fact, many of you asked about the family pie day that I talked about yesterday. If you hadn’t already guessed (based on yesterday’s post), my favorite taste of fall is apple pie. They cry and complain when you leave for work or run out on a errand. They get frustrated because they want independence and they want to be cuddled up in your arms all at the same time. They still fall apart because they don’t quite have the words to express themselves. They can love science, math, engineering, trucks, blocks, and everything “boy” – encourage that love, too.īut, probably the most important thing to know about preschool girls is that they are little.They aren’t looking like your little baby anymore, but more like a kid.They want YOU to PLAY with them all day long, too….They want to be around their friends every moment of the day.They want to sit in the front seat of the car even though they won’t be able to until they’re sixteen because of the newest height and weight requirements (exaggerating here, but it is insane!).They want to be consulted and have decisions run by them first, including where to go for ice cream. ![]()
